Seminole Patchwork was invented by the indigenous people of Florida in the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is a form of extreme strip piecing using narrow strips of fabrics. These strips are joined together, cut apart and then rearranged into more complex patterns. It's a technique that requires precision cutting and piecing.
In this class, you will be learning the basics of Seminole patterns and how they work. You will create several strips of different Seminole patterns, which you can later use to create your own Seminole piece. The process may involve multiple steps, but it's a great opportunity to explore the creativity and artistry behind this technique.
Throughout the class, you'll gain a solid understanding of Seminole patterns and their intricacies. You'll learn how different strips can be combined to create stunning designs. By the end, you'll be well-equipped to create your own unique Seminole pieces.
