Sew a Jelly Roll and compete for Gift Certificates to Cactus!
Join us for our 3rd annual Jelly Roll Race on September 21. We start at 10am; however, we suggest arriving right at 9:30 to get set up. We are super excited this year to add a twist to our jelly roll race. We are featuring the Fuse Box pattern by Studio 180 (afterall, how many jelly roll race quilts do you really need?). At 10am, we will review the pattern and answer questions. We will have Lisa and Joyce available to answer questions and help you with the pattern. You will receive the pattern by email when you register before Saturday but we will also have paper patterns for everybody. We will also have tools to share but if you have the Star 60 ruler by Studio 180, please bring it. Please take the time to sort your strips. See this video here for a great tutorial on sorting lights, mediums, and darks. Then the race will have it's official beginning. We'll sew for a few hours and see who gets to the finish line first--OR, how far you can get.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. We've got lots of room in our classroom so join us.
You'll need a full size jelly roll or 2.5" strip roll with approximately 40-42 strips. Jelly rolls or strip rolls can be purchased at Cactus Quilt Shop with 10% discount if you are registered to race.
